CHAPTER ONE 1.1 Introduction With the advance in the worlds technology and the struggle of making the world one global village, many organizations such as universities, and other institutions have resorted to the use of the web based internet forums to ease their work done and to communicate effectively. This study is about the implementation of a secured web based internet forum for Kampala international university 1.2 Background of the Study Kampala international university is a private institution of higher education located at Kansanga, 3km from Kampala. Kampala international university started its operations in 2001 and now it has a branch in western Uganda in Bushenyi. 1.2.1 The university vision Kampala international university will be the premier institution of international recognition preparing students for global markets. 1.2.2 The university mission Kampala international university is to respondent to societical and educational needs by developing and delivering pragmatic academic programs that are responsive to the market place. The university services traditional age students as well as adult students across the world by delivering high quality programs through innovative teaching methodologies that engage students in self directed learning.
